The task: First, you'll answer some questions about languages you may know. Next, you'll answer questions about the past tense several "non-verbs" - this means these aren't real words. What we want to know is if they were real words, what do you think their past tense would be? If you were referred here from MTurk, your code will be revealed on the final page. If you came to the experiment from facebook or another social network, you can disregard this code.

Help

Each word is a nonsense verb - meaning it is not a real English word. Your job is to give us what you think the simple past tense of this verb would be if it were a real word. Remember: because this is a new verb it needs a new past tense form - in other words, it can't have the same past tense form as a real verb you already know. At the top, we show you how the verb would look if it were in the present tense ("Every day we..."). Press play to listen to how the word sounds, then decide how you would use this same verb if you had to use it in the past tense ("Yesterday we..."). Type this in in the text box and click submit. There is no right or wrong answer, we want to know your intuition.
